Baby Brain Development

I came across the Nuryl App, a baby brain training app that plays prenatal music to the baby starting at 16 weeks (4 months). Read the white paper by Julia LeCher, PhD. The music can be played all the way up to 2 years of age. There hasn't been too many studies or research to prove that this has any positive effects. The founder Rick Beato, a music producer, created specific playlists on High Information Music after watching a TedTalk from Patricia Kuhl (Video Below). Music is a language, and there is a critical window of opportunity where children's brains can learn languages, one of them is from 0 - 2 years of age, and after age 7 their ability to learn a language is heavily declined. There are a lot of firsts in a babies first year of age. This peaked my interest and I started to read Whats Going On In There, By Lise Eliot, PhD. Below are some screen shots of what Nuryl looks like when playing songs and the Stats it tracks of how long you play the music for. It is recommended that music is played during prenatal for at least an hour everyday, you can see on average I do much more than the 100%.

Read my blog post: What's Going On In There, By Lise Eliot, PhD Summary

If you are interested in learning more about brain development during pregnancy I complied some TedTalks that I found interesting. As I am 27 weeks pregnant, I not only play Nuryl every evening for 2+ hours each night, I also plan to read some of the baby books out loud so the baby can hear my voice.
